  1. Thanks! The one which confused me a bit was the it’s/its. Does the same rule apply to the apostrophe if used after a name (for example, is it “John’s car” or “Johns car”? I have always used the apostrophe in there, however this seems to contradict the pattern used it it’s/its.

    You are very correct – John’s car is the correct form. “Johns” is simply the pleural of “John”. This is completely different from “it’s/its”.

    John’s car – Possessive noun { With apostrophe }
    Its – Possessive pronoun { Always without apostrophe }
