Pete Cashmore was only 19 yrs old when he started blogging in 2005, only to escape from the boredom of his studies. At the age of 13, he had problem after undergoing operation for appendicitis and forced to spend ample time at home. Then he fell in love with internet and social media, and started blogging from his bedroom.
In the last 7 yrs his social media news site Mashable.com has grown to become one of the most read blogs in the World. It attracts more than 50 million unique visitors per month.

Hi Aatif, there is no doubt Mashable is worth US$ 200m and its a good amount also. But, there is no confirmation as of now.
Indeed, Mashable is one of the leading blog but its more a News Portal rather than a true blog. I would rather rate TechCrunch much more sophisticated than Mashable. TC has got the sense and meaning. There are many blogs who are following the footmark of Mashable but reaching in no-man’s-land. While if you are a true blogger, then you should see few ones like Dazeinfo.com, pluggd.in to read the real analysis and research reports.
