Google is dancing wildly!
The swing of the search results in SERPs is dramatic since last two weeks.
Me and many more SEOs and webmasters have been noticing this wild movement of search results on daily basis. I’m very much surprised the way rankings have been changing in SERPs for last couple of weeks.
Few of my articles which were sitting on the 5th page of Google is now having party on the front page! And few, which were ranking at 2nd spot for some long-tail keywords are now at 5th or 7th positions.
Is something happening: Is there any PARTY (Panda) going on? May be.
But, these type of party, like Panda party or Penguin party don’t last for too long. This time it’s already 2 weeks.
It can be due to a major Index Updates along with some newly added search algorithms. Always remember, somebody’s loss is somebody else’s gain in search marketing. Because, number of searchers and searching is either constant or increasing at any point of time. This hypothesis is based on the fact that – Every day more and more webmasters are loosing huge traffic. And, I’m getting plenty of mails and SEO works ($$$).
Moreover, Google, specially Matt Cutts has never taken the contract to tweets all the changes which are happening inside Google house.
Google is Dancing More Than EVER
Once upon a time, Google was dancing 10 to 12 times / month. Before 2003. People used to wait on monthly basis to check their rankings on search engine result pages.
Since 2003, Google has added more number of signals and ranking factors to its algorithm. The indexing and updates became more frequent. Usually many times a day. The impact and changes were so negligible that hardly anybody noticed it. Google stopped dancing till Feb (24) 2011, till the introduction of Google Panda.
Now Google has got so many reasons to dance. Along with Panda and Penguin, the more newer Page layout algorithm or Top heavy algorithm and Exact match domain (EMD).
Google is now using more than 200 SE ranking signals to rank contents. It has planned for more than 500 SE algorithm updates in the year 2012 alone. It’s definitely a bigger number than ever.
Every month Google is doing some moderate to major updates to make user experience or search results better. Check for June -July monthly algo updates.
With all these wild animals and algorithms Google Dance is back again. In fact, it has taken a full-circle, making us to remember the good old time (before 2003).
What Should Be Your Move?
Google is dancing. And, it will dance like anything in future, both, in short-term and long-term. The reason, Google is running madly after search quality or user experience. As if it has bitten by a rabid dog. And, nobody knows when it will stop!
Remember one thing – When Google dance, it’s a sign of danger or change. Whatever you can say. The more wilder the dance, the more danger it is for some webmasters. It is dancing means some webmasters must be getting whips for practicing spammy techniques or trying to tricks the BIG G.
Google has promised to make the world-wide-web clean. A web which can return only, and only the best possible answers when a searcher asks.
So, what should you do?
It’s simple. Start dancing with Google. Because, if you stop dancing, the BIG G will be caning you like anything by putting all your contents at the end of Google Search.
And, your move (dancing) should be – A business model (blogs, websites or anything) with a solid foundation. A business model with long-term future, sustainable at least for next 20, 30 or 40 years.
A business model which is unique, fresh and offers much more than your consumers asks. Make the user experience your first priority. Keep the SEO, traffic and money aside.
Make your site beautiful, make the theme SEO friendly, and write for your readers.
This is the only way Google will love you. And you know, when Google loves you, traffic and money will automatically come to your site and pocket.
