Every webmaster knows – How cruel is Google Panda to duplicate content.
Since the introduction of Panda algorithm by the search giant Google on Feb 24, 2011, hundreds of 1000s of websites are being hit every year for duplicate content issues or low quality content. Most of the Panda affected sites are either limping or completely extinct.
Those who have survived Panda hit, and regained their rankings and traffic are definitely a luckier lot.
Let’s dig a bit deeper about duplicate content and Google Panda via this INFOGRAPHIC called “Duplicate Content Uncovered” created by free duplicate content checker PlagSpotter.
History says “The first documented evidence of Panda hit is About.com.” And, do you know “Who are the famous guys who copied Matt Cutts successfully?” Checkout this cool INFOGRAPHIC to know more…

Hi Ravi,
Search Engines, particularly Google has evolved a lot and continue to be evolving since its inception. And, in this process of evolvement, sites donning black hats will be the loosers for sure.
Hi Nadita,
Well I think, during these years there is a rapid increase in websites/blogs and their competition also increasing day by day. So to provide users with best results Google came out with Panda and Penguin updates.
And the infographic is amazing.. thanks

I was one of the making duplicate content sites, and I have first hand experience that the Panda updates did indeed do some serious damage to those sites. You can see the traffic drop charts for my sites by clicking on my name!
